 Brown Eggs Recalled as Salmonella Outbreak Sickens 95 People


An active recall is underway for brown eggs linked to a multistate outbreak of Salmonella, the FDA announced Wednesday. 1

Originating from Country Eggs, LLC, of Lucerne Valley, Calif., the eggs have sickened 95 people in 14 states. Eighteen people have been hospitalized but no deaths reported. 2 Here’s what you need to know, from how to recognize the tainted eggs, to what you should do if you already have them in your fridge.

Identifying the Recalled Eggs

All eggs being recalled were sold in retail stores throughout California and Nevada, and to food service customers in CA and NV between June 16, 2025 and July 9, 2025 All affected eggs are packaged in the following cartons below.

The eggs were distributed in dozen packs under the following brand names, sell by dates, and codes:

Nagatoshi Produce, sold by dates 7/1/25 through 9/18/25, code No. CA 7695

Misuho with a sell by date of 7/1/25 – 9/18/25 and code No 7695

Nijiya Markets by dates of sell by 7/1/25 through 9/18/25 and code No. 7695

The eggs were also distributed to food service customers in bulk packaged in 15 and 30 dozen tray packs with dates from March 17, 2018 through March 31, 2018 and can be identified by the plant number P-105, with the Julian date range of 011 through 012 printed on either the side portion or the principal side of the carton or package.
